Black and white comic commission. Somehow it’s Genwyn’s fault.
The latest adult comic is about Lenore, told from the perspective of Alex as he wanders in search of Mary Ann, only to stumble upon her old home and her parents’ loveless marriage. Available here! https://jaynaylor.com/catalog.php for adults only. If you like these comics, support them. Thank you. :3
I’m starting to think that Sunday evening may be a good time to set aside for sketches that don’t necessarily pertain to anything.
Red pandas are complexly colored critters. I decided to edit Lynne’s color pattern, primarily as it pertains to her backside. I wasn’t really satisfied with the delineation between the orange and the darker colors when she was in more revealing poses, in her older pictures.
Latest finished commission.
It’s hard for me to do edits like this since I work my lines out on paper and have to then edit with an eraser and scan in new lines. But it was an experience. Also my first time drawing a dude with female junk.
I built this during small snatches of free time over the last week. We’ll see how long it takes me to color it in between projects and commissions.
I keep forgetting that Tumblr has a private message service, because it doesn’t have a good notification system for when you have new ones. So, I thought I’d go through them and condense and consolidate the questions and just answer them here.
Where do I see your commission policies, prices, can I get one, etc?
I’m still going through my old reserve list of commission slots, which is why commissions show up here at times. I’m not taking new slots, but when I do, I will handle them exclusively through my commission account on Fur Affinity: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/jaydraws just for the sake of my own convenience. My general rundown of services can be seen here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9989658/ but you need an account with mature settings activated, to view it.
Do you have any advice on drawing, coloring, etc?
Not really. Just work hard and keep creating. If there is a set of sentences that gives people skill-building experience, I’ve yet to read it.
Do you have any tutorials on drawing male and female anatomy?
There are so many already on the internet, drawn by others, or just reference in general, I never quite felt the need to add to them.
This character once that appeared in Better Days, some other comic, etc.. will they be back, be run into again, or developed further?
Characters come and go for me. Sometimes they’re just one-offs and never revisited in a meaningful way. Even ones I like, I can’t say whether or not I’ll revisit them, without a good story idea, first.
Will you draw your kid characters from Original Life in adults-only pictures?
Nope. Not even if I advance their ages to adulthood. To a kid, adulthood is a far-off uncertain future, and that’s how I want it with these characters.
How do you overcome art block?
I always have a set of general premises and settings I want to work with, and I can always draw from those when I feel like doing something. So, I’ve never really been “blocked”. There are pictures that don’t work. There are times when something doesn’t come out quite right. There are moments when my levels of inspiration exceed my patience to sit down and do something right, but I don’t really experience a “block”.
Can I ask you a question?
It is okay if I post your projects, comics, etc, on my blog?
I’m not super-active in fighting the reposting of my full adult comics from my catalog, but I would ask that you not post those, if you please. They are my main means of income and they’re successful enough that I can work on them as a full time job. As long as they’re successful, and enough people support me on my catalog site, I can have the time to keep producing them at my current rate, as well as have the spare time and the energy at the end of the day to produce the one-off free pictures that appear here and on my other galleries. If I have to get a job outside of that, everything else I do, including stuff I draw for free, will suffer or stop. That being said, if it’s something that I offer for free on Tumblr, FA, DA, etc, then I don’t mind if it’s reposted and spread around, as long as it isn’t edited and misrepresented.
Are there higher resolutions of your pictures?
What you see is what you get. Commissioners can ask for high-res versions if they want them for whatever reason, but most don’t, and I only make them available to the commissioners.
